Who We Are
Moody Community Development Corporation (Moody CDC) is a Memphis-based nonprofit community development organization dedicated to revitalizing blighted neighborhoods through affordable housing development.
Founded by Wayne Moody, Moody CDC combines the discipline of real estate development with the heart of community service. We acquire vacant and blighted properties, develop quality homes, and work to build sustainable, thriving communities throughout Shelby County.
We operate as a community development corporation, media company, and educational resource — documenting our work through the "Building Memphis" video series and teaching others how to replicate our model in their own communities.

Founder & Executive Director
Wayne Moody is a dedicated community development leader with a passion for transforming blighted properties into quality homes for Memphis families. As founder and Executive Director of Moody CDC, Wayne has championed affordable housing initiatives throughout Shelby County, partnering with government agencies, investors, and community organizations to revitalize neighborhoods one lot at a time. His vision is to build not just homes, but generational wealth and community stability for Memphis families.

Wayne Moody establishes Moody Community Development Corporation with a mission to eliminate blight and build affordable housing in Memphis.
First Property Acquisition
Acquired first vacant lot in South Memphis, beginning the transformation from blight to community asset.
First Home Completed
Completed the first Moody CDC home, providing a family with quality, affordable housing in South Memphis.
Community Partnership Network
Established formal partnerships with city and county agencies, unlocking access to grants and land disposition programs.
South Memphis Phase I
Completed Phase I of South Memphis revitalization — 6 homes built, transforming a blighted block into a thriving residential street.
Orange Mound Initiative
Launched the Orange Mound Community Homes project, bringing affordable housing to one of Memphis's most historic neighborhoods.
Building Memphis Media Launch
